You can apply for an Ike Barber Transfer Scholarship after one year of full-time study if you MUST transfer to complete your degree or, after two years of full-time study, if you CHOOSE to transfer to complete your degree.
Detailed Eligibility Criteria:
After One-Year of Full-Time Studies ($5,000)
To be able to apply for this Scholarship, you must…
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident (landed immigrant), convention refugee, or protected person living in Canada;
- be currently attending, and transferring to, a public post-secondary institution in British Columbia;
- have completed one year of study with a minimum of 21 transferable credits at a BC public post-secondary institution and must transfer in order to complete your degree;
- have at least a 2.5 Grade Point Average on your best 21 credits;
- can clearly demonstrate community and/or school involvement;
- be starting your studies at a new institution between May 1, 2024 and April 30, 2025.
Extra Considerations
- You can apply even if you have not yet completed the required minimum 21 credits but, will have completed them before transferring to a new institution;
- You can apply in advance of receiving official acceptance of admission to a new institution;
- You can only apply if your transfer occurs after May 1, 2024;
- You cannot have taken a gap year during your current program of study.
- You cannot transfer credits from a completed degree.
After Two-Years of Full-Time Studies ($5,000)
To be able to apply for this Scholarship, you must…

- have completed two years of study with a minimum of 45 transferable credits at a BC public post-secondary institution and have chosen to transfer in order to complete your degree;
- have at least a 2.5 Grade Point Average on your best 45 credits;
- clearly demonstrate community and/or school involvement;
- are starting your studies at a new institution between May 1, 2024 and April 30, 2025.
