BCTA offers scholarship opportunities to children of member company owners and employees. Three scholarships are available to students entering their first year of post-secondary and the other three are for students entering their second or higher years of post-secondary. Each scholarship in the academic year of 2022/2023 awards a prize of $1,250.

BCTA offers scholarship opportunities to children of member company owners and employees: the BCTA Motor Carrier Member Scholarship for motor carrier members and the BCTA Associate Member Scholarship for associate members.

Eligibility

• Children of employees /owners of BCTA Motor Carrier or Associate Members.
• Graduating from secondary school or have completed one or more years of post-secondary education.
• Must be enrolled or enrolling full-time at an accredited Canadian College, University or Institute of Technology.
• Minimum average grade achievement of 70% or equivalent letter or grade point average.
• Member Company must be in good standing with respect to payment of current year's dues.

Application

• Completed application form.
• Entering first year post-secondary – copy of official transcript for the final year of secondary school.
• Entering second or higher years post-secondary - copy of official transcript of marks from previous year. (Must be a full time student as defined by Canada Revenue Agency)
• Confirmation of acceptance/continued enrollment to accredited Canadian post–secondary institution.
• 1 page outline of student's career goals.
• 1 page outline of student's community involvement and/or extra-curricular activities.
