Entrance awards are based on community contributions and financial need, and are available to domestic high school applicants.

Minimum Requirements

• Applying for the Fall term
• Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada
• Have a minimum average of 80% in courses required for primary program, or the minimum IB diploma score required for admission
• Have a demonstrated financial need

Fall 2026 Application Period:

November 1, 2025 until the March deadline. 

How to Apply

By submitting one complete application and supporting documentation, you will be considered for the following entrance awards.

Lohn Foundation Entrance Award $5,000

Jack and Sadie Diamond Secondary School Entrance Award $5,000

All Entrance Award applicants are automatically considered for SFU's Entrance Bursaries.

• A summary of your achievements and activities demonstrating your involvement: provide clear, concise details about your volunteer work, school or community involvement, extracurricular activities, and artistic or athletic interests (500 words max)
• One (1) Community Reference Letter
